About Us

History

Before The '37 Flood

First National Bank of Carrollton was organized in November 1881 with a net capital of $60,000. The original location was at 422 Main Street. In 1966 a new bank was built at the present day site of 604 Highland Ave, a renovation and addition took place in 1992. In 1998 our branch location was constructed at 2639 Highway 227.

Throughout the banks history there have only been 5 different presidents. Joseph A Donaldson (1881-1930), J. Lyter Donaldson (1930-1960), Fred B. Oney (1960-1983), Malcom L. Carraco ( 1984-2007), Gregory D. Goff (2007- Present).

In December 1998 shareholders of The First National Bank approved a reorganization and the forming of a new one bank holding company resulting in First National Bank becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Port William Bancshares, Inc.

First National Bank currently operates 2 full service branches in Carroll County and 2 loan production offices in Oldham and Gallatin Counties, with 25 employees, and over $100 Million in assets.

On January 1, 2017, The First National Bank of Carrollton modified its legal charter name to First National Bank of Kentucky to further represent its competitive market along with the latest products and services.
